Tomorrow, I will begin the roadtrip to Ohio. It’s been two weeks since I’ve seen Jana and the boys, but it seems like a lifetime. Being home alone was fun for about five seconds. It’s been a restless an odd time for me. I haven’t liked it one bit.

Thankfully, Jana’s recovery is continuing to go well. She had another round of x-rays in Ohio, and everything is proceeding well with the recovery from her fractured leg. She still cannot put weight on the leg, though. Jana has an appointment with the orthopedist the first week of December, and we’ll find out more then about her recovery and rehab.

These past three weeks we have seen a tremendous outpouring of love and support from friends, family, neighbors and strangers. However, we’ll really need the support in December. When we return from Ohio, there won’t be anyone staying with us like Jana’s mom did. Jana still won’t be able to put weight on the leg. It will be hard for Jana to maneuver around our split level house, trying to parent two boys age three and eighteen months. I have vacation days I can use, but also some major projects due in December. We could use your prayers and support as we figure out how we’re going to manage everything.

Liam and Duncan continue to do exceedingly well, especially when you factor in the upheaval they’ve gone through the past few weeks. Liam has been outspoken that I need to get to Ohio. (I miss my family.)

Please pray for:

  • Continued quick recovery for Jana
  • Financial provision for expenses
  • Safe travel to and from Ohio
  • Adjustment to life once we all return from Ohio
  • People to help out in December
